Will Abe's coalition win the majority?

The 25th regular election of members of the House of Councillors of Japan will be held on 21 July 2019 to elect 124 of the 245 members of the upper house of bicameral National Diet of the country.
The last polls show that ruling coalition of prime minister Shinzo Abe is set to win a solid majority in this election. This will allow him to keep on working to revise Japan's pacific constitution.
Changing the constitution to enshrine the role of Japan’s military, known as the Self-Defense Forces requires approval by two-thirds of both chambers of parliament and a majority in a public referendum.
